Facial cleansing at home: a simple routine your skin may appreciate

A useful home routine does not need ten steps: it needs gentleness, consistency, and attention to how your skin responds.

A useful facial-care routine does not need to feel like an endless project. For many people, the difference comes from repeating a few gentle steps and noticing how the skin responds.

The foundation: cleanse without punishing your skin

Use a gentle, non-abrasive cleanser, lukewarm water, and your fingertips. Avoid scrubbing hard or turning your towel into an exfoliator. As a general starting point, the American Academy of Dermatology recommends washing twice a day and after sweating.

A four-step morning routine

  1. Cleanse with soft, brief movements.
  2. Pat dry instead of dragging the towel across your skin.
  3. Apply moisturizer when your skin needs it.
  4. Finish with sun protection suited to your skin and routine.

At night, return to the essentials

Remove makeup and sunscreen, cleanse without friction, and moisturize. When introducing a new product, give yourself time to observe its effect before changing three other things at once.

Consistency does not mean rigidity: if your skin feels tight, sensitive, or uncomfortable, your routine deserves an adjustment.

What can professional cleansing add?

Home care maintains the habit. A personalized facial cleansing at THA lets us look more closely and decide whether steam, extractions, or other steps make sense. If you are unsure where to start, a skin hydration and oil assessment can support a more specific conversation.
